Austrian / German Model 1842/60 Rampart Rifle Wall Gun 1831 Antique 22.4 mm
Exceptionally rare, German (Bavarian) Model 1842/60 is a 19th-century heavy percussion rampart rifle or “wall gun” designed for defending fortifications, manufactured at the Amberg armory and is dated 1831. These rifles feature a large 22.4 mm caliber, rifled, octagonal barrels, and were upgraded or maintained around the 1860s, often featuring walnut stocks, double set triggers, and specialized tang sights scaled up to 12. Shoots a 22 mm, 101,7-gram (1569,5 grain) Podewils bullet; Powder charge 7,656 grams (118,2 grains).
We have inspected this rifle and it functions correctly. Because this is an antique firearm it should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing.
