Winchester Model 94 Flat Band Lever-Action Rifle 30-30 Winchester 1946 #1375551
This is an early Winchester Model 94 Flat Band chambered in 30-30 Winchester, a desirable post-war variant known for its distinctive forearm band design. Based on the serial number, it is believed this rifle was produced in 1946. The rifle features classic Winchester lever action reliability, with a blued finish and walnut stock showing minor wear commensurate with age. It sports a 20-inch barrel with iron sights and a full-length tubular magazine with a 7-round capacity. This model is particularly sought after by collectors for its unique mid-century characteristics. A perfect blend of historical value and functional utility, this piece is an excellent addition to any serious firearm collection.
Production of the Flat Band Carbine began approximately nine-months after Winchester had resumed production of the Model 94 following WWII. Based on the observed serial number range of the specimens surveyed thus far, the first Flat Band Carbines were manufactured in mid-July of the year 1946, beginning very near serial number 1373600 (there have been a very small number of specimens found with earlier serial numbers, but they were undoubtedly a case of Winchester using up older receivers).
Production of the Flat Band ended in mid-December of the year 1948 (approximately serial number 1547300), after nearly 139,000 of them had been manufactured.
