This is a Chinese Type 53 bolt-action carbine, manufactured in 1955 by Jianshe Arsenal (Factory 26). It is a licensed copy of the Soviet Mosin-Nagant M44 and is chambered in 7.62x54mmR. The rifle is missing its side-folding bayonet. Condition appears used with original military finish and some handling wear, making it a solid option for collectors of Cold War or surplus firearms. Bore is very good with slight roughness toward the chamber and is not counterbored. A popular choice among Mosin-Nagant enthusiasts for its history and rugged design. Import marked.
