This is a Finnish VKT M39 bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.62x54R, known for its exceptional accuracy and robust construction. The M39 was manufactured for use by Finnish forces and features an upgraded design over the Russian Mosin-Nagant, including improved sights and a sturdier stock. This example has a hardwood stock with expected service wear, adding to its collectible character. Bore is excellent and not counter-bored. Matching bolt. The metal components retain a solid finish, with clear markings typically found on VKT models. A great addition for collectors of WWII and Cold War era surplus firearms. Import marked.
